Actor/Environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. will take it upon himself this fall to tell people how to heat their homes more efficiently just in time for heating season. Ed will be biking through 5 notoriously cold cities in 5 days to reach as many people as he can with this important information. Along the way, he’ll be talking with people, meeting with local government officials and stopping in at local businesses.

6:00 – 8:00 AM Ed begins his journey by starting at Roger’s Park and bicycling along the lake towards downtown.
10:00 – 1:00 PM Starting at Millennium Park and ending on Michigan Ave, Ed and his team will meet with fans, hand out energy-saving gear and information, stop in at local businesses and generally cause a scene in the name of saving energy. Cleveland OH – Thursday, November 27
8:00 – 9:00 AM Ed stops by the annual Turkey Bowl at Giant Eagle Grocery Store at 4401 Mayfield Rd.
9:30 – 10:30 AM Ed gets a tour of The Greenhouse Tavern – the first all-green restaurant in Cleveland set to open in February 2009.
11:00 – 1:00 PM Ed swaps “green” tips with Lakeside Men’s Shelter and serves Thanksgiving lunch.
3:00 – 5:00 PM Ed and his team canvas a Beachwood neighborhood to surprise families with energy-saving gear before enjoying a private dinner with the winner of the LOOK UP essay contest.
Washington DC – Friday, November 28
10:30 AM – 12:30 PM Bike with Ed along the National Mall. Learn about saving energy this winter and get in on some energy-saving gear from his team while supplies last.
1:30 PM – 3:30 PM It’s the busiest shopping day of the year and Ed wants you to consider putting energy-saving appliances on your holiday shopping lists. Visit Ed at Lowe’s in Alexandria at 6750 Richmond Highway. Ed will sign autographs and talk with customers about how to use common household appliances to save energy. Chance to win prizes while supplies last.
